Call forwarding to your Shoplog number
Your Shoplog number can answer for you when you can't. Forward your existing business line to it and a missed call turns into an instant text back to the caller, a voicemail transcript in your inbox, and a logged lead instead of a lost one. You keep your published number; nothing about how customers reach you changes.
Why forward calls to Shoplog
- Missed-call text back. A caller who hits voicemail gets a text within seconds. Most callers who reach voicemail call the next company on the list; a fast text keeps them talking to you.
- Voicemail you can read. Messages are transcribed and logged, so you can read them from the truck instead of dialing in.
- Every call is logged. Who called, when, and what happened, all in one place, tied to the customer record.
- Your published number stays yours. Forwarding is a setting on your phone line. Turn it off any time with one dial code.
How it works
Two ways to set it up, depending on how much you want Shoplog to handle:
- Missed calls only (most common). Your phone rings like normal. If you don't answer, the call goes to your Shoplog number instead of your carrier voicemail. Shoplog takes the voicemail, transcribes it, and sends the caller a text back.
- All calls. Every call to your business line rings through Shoplog first. Use this if you want every call logged and recorded, or during off-hours.
Either way the caller dials the number they've always used. They never see or need your Shoplog number.
Set it up: dial codes by carrier
Forwarding is set from the phone being forwarded, using your carrier's dial codes. Dial the code, then your Shoplog number, from the business phone itself. Your Shoplog number is in your welcome email, or ask us.

Frequently asked questions
Does the caller know the call was forwarded?
No. They dial your number the way they always have. There's no announcement, no click, nothing different on their end.
Can I still make outgoing calls from my phone?
Yes. Forwarding only affects incoming calls. Outgoing calls, texts, and everything else on your phone work exactly as before.
Can I forward more than one line?
Yes. Set the same forwarding on each line you want covered. Every forwarded line lands in the same Shoplog account.
What does the caller's text back say?
You approve the wording before it goes live. A typical one: "Sorry we missed you! What's the best time to call you back?" It can also collect what the job is and where, so you're calling back with context.
What if the caller texts back?
Their reply lands in your Shoplog inbox, and you're notified. You can answer from the app, and the whole conversation stays attached to that customer's record.
Does forwarding cost extra?
Shoplog doesn't charge per forwarded call; it's part of your plan. Some carriers meter forwarded minutes on certain plans, which is worth a quick check with your carrier if your plan is unusual.
Does this work with cell phones, landlines, and VoIP?
Yes to all three. Cell and landline setup is the dial codes above; VoIP is a setting in your provider's portal.
How do I turn it off?
Dial the cancel code for your carrier (*73 on most, ##002# on T-Mobile) from the same phone. Forwarding stops immediately.
Do international numbers work?
Shoplog numbers are US numbers, and text back covers US and Canadian callers. Forwarding from a non-US line isn't supported.
